About PayPal Fees
Standard (Goods & Services): The default fee for most online sales in the US — 3.49% of the transaction plus a flat $0.49. This applies when buyers use the "Goods & Services" option, giving them purchase protection.
International / Cross-border: When your buyer is outside your home country, PayPal adds an additional cross-border fee, typically bringing the total to 4.99% + $0.49. Exchange rate margins may also apply.
QR Code (In-person): PayPal's discounted rate for face-to-face transactions using QR codes — just 1.90% + $0.10, making it competitive with traditional POS terminals.
Micropayments: For transactions under $10, PayPal offers an optional micropayment rate of 5.00% + $0.05. This can be more economical than the standard fee for very small amounts; your account must be enabled for it.
